The title of the work recalls the biblical story of the tower of Babel, according to which at that time all human beings spoke the same language and they agreed to build a tower that would touch the sky.
God disrupted the work by so confusing the language of the people that they could no longer understand one another and dispersed them over the face of the earth.
The work starts from the ancient tale to deal with the contemporary theme of the relationship between peoples, different traditions and different cultures, and the difficulty to communicate not only due to language difference.
In the sculpture, each figure has built his own tower , defends it and take shelter on it, with a posture of closure, distrust, competition against the other.
